iPad hits Austria, Hong Kong, Ireland, more

Apple today said it would expand the reach of the iPad to nine more countries on Friday, July 23. Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore will all get the device the same day. Both the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G versions will be available at the same time.

The company didn't provide pricing details or carrier agreements for the new regions.

Apple's new international expansion is the first since it brought the iPad outside of the US on May 28 and comes as it still has to contend with shipping delays; most customers still face 7-10 day shipping delays and frequent retail sellouts. The company most recently said it had shipped three million iPads in 80 days and is likely to have sold significantly more in the month since.
