HP to out more Atom N455, N475 netbooks in summer

HP has changed its position on netbooks and will soon release models with Intel's newest 1.66GHz Atom N455 and 1.83GHz N475. The chips support DDR3 RAM for extra speed. Releasing these products will reportedly be HP's attempt to protect its entry-level notebook business, which includes netbooks at the low end.

The same sources believe the netbook market will become highly competitive in October, when Intel releases its next-generation, dual-core Atom CPU. The main contenders will still be Acer, ASUS, Samsung and HP. [via DigiTimes]
