Pricing still unclear
Verizon is allegedly ready to follow AT&T's lead with new data caps for its wireless customers. The carrier is rumored to be switching to a tiered pricing strategy, with several new options for data caps, an unnamed source has told Engadget.
The move would not necessarily come as a surprise, as Verizon has previously hinted that it would eventually move to a tiered pricing strategy. The company has also maintained contracts very similar to that of rival AT&T.
The source suggests that Verizon may introduce the new plans on July 29, although it remains unclear if the pricing will closely match AT&T's options. The latter carrier currently offers $25 for 2GB of data, or $15 for 200MB.
