Qualcomm attempting to ditch FLO TV group

Plans still unclear
As part of its quarterly financial disclosures, Qualcomm informed investors that it is attempting to sell its FLO TV division. CEO Paul Jacobs suggests Qualcomm has already begun talks with other companies regarding several "alternatives" for the struggling business.
"It will get done in the next year but I don't think I can be much more specific than that," Jacobs said in a conference call following the quarterly report.
The FLO TV system connects mobile TV services to Qualcomm's own Personal TV device and several smartphones. Both of the angles do not appear to have been successful for the company, as the division has continued to struggle.
It is still unclear if Qualcomm plans to completely jettison FLO TV and sell the corresponding spectrum, or establish new partnerships that may sustain the service. [via AP]
