Lexar outs larger 128GB Echo SE thumb drive

Lexar this week added a new, high capacity 128GB USB drive USB drive to its Echo SE lineup, first launched in January. The new Echo SE is seen both as large enough for a backup and portable enough to be a typical thumb drive. It should be relatively fast, at peak read speeds of 28MBps and maximum write speeds of 10MBps, and optionally locks down with 128-bit AES encryption.

Like other Echo SE models, the drive is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP, along with Mac OS X. Other capacities of the Echo SE backup drive include 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The price of the new 128GB version is $500.
