Centennial Wireless to Verizon move stalled

The transition of Centennial Wireless assets to Verizon has been delayed, likely into 2011, by the regulatory process. Verizon was granted two time extensions by the FCC to respond to the regulatory body's questions. The FCC has also issued a second protective order to keep the proceedings confidential.

The FCC is also considering an active objection to the accrual by Cellular South. Five markets are affected within Louisiana and Mississippi.

AT&T divested these assets to Verizon as part of its previous deal to buy Centennial Communications. [via BGR]
