Google Music being sped up for a November launch?

Google stepping up negotiations for music store

Google is hastening talks to launch its Google Music service before the end of the year, purported insiders said on Monday. Its Android lead Andy Rubin is in "accelerated" discussions with the Harry Fox Agency to get access to at least 27,000 songs on top of other deals. The move to smaller groups suggested to the New York Post that Google had already struck deals with major labels and was focusing on rights for independents.

Estimates based on the speed of talks implied that Google Music could be active by November or December. The statements are partly contradicted by hints of troubled discussions with major labels and imply either that discussions with majors and independents are simultaneous or else that the remaining issues with major studios were cleared up.

While most of the features surrounding the service haven't been mentioned, it should be both a per-track store along with a streaming service. A completed Google Music should have a strong mobile component and could not only remotely command an Android phone to download tracks but stream purchased music directly over 3G or Wi-Fi.

Rubin and Google as a whole may be pressured by other rumors that Apple is about to launch cloud-based iTunes and reduce the possibility of a Google foothold in music.

    sped up?

Wow, 10 years after all those other companies started their music services. I don't know. I sure hope Google doesn't just jump in with both feet without thinking it over.

And I hear they're really pushing on their next big thing. From what I gather, they're going to start offering this service called "ISP", where, for like $20 a month, you can use that modem in your computer to connect to this global network mainly featuring erotic pictures of women and pages and pages of content detailing the real truth behind so many stories that most people think they know all about, but turns out they are just gigantic lies and cover-ups by large corporations and crooked government officials.

For example, did you know that they actually found proof of life on Mars. And not only that, but somehow TV director and writer Aaron Sorkin found out about it, and he basically informed everyone in the world through clever symbolism and writing of his now earth shattering episode of the West Wing!

Yeah, Google is just going to crush Apple

in the music business. Google won't even get close to Amazon's Music Store. Apple has 160 million willing-to-spend credit card holders and they're not going anywhere. I'm sure they feel nice and comfortable within that walled garden.
