LG's new X140 netbook gets 1.83GHz Atom
LG has introduced its latest netbook this week, with the 10.1-inch X140. It is powered by a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470, giving it an edge in the netbook category. It uses Windows 7 Starter on its 320GB hard drive and has both 2GB of RAM and a 720p screen.
A 3G radio for data network access and LG's Smart POP feature allows the netbook to send data back and forth between it and a smartphone. Users can also send texts or make calls from the netbook. Likewise, all contacts are synced between the netbook and phone. A 1.3-megapixel webcam completes the core features.
The X140 will be available in black, white or pink. With a six-cell battery that is said to be capable of powering it for nine hours, the netbook weighs 2.9lbs. With an available larger nine-cell battery, it tips the scale at 3.2lbs. The netbook is now available in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries, priced at the equivalent of $490. If or when it arrives in North America is unknown. [via Akihabara]
