Motorola wants to patent Family Room

Motorola has filed a trademark application for "Family Room" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Not much is known about the functionality of such a Family Room, but it is described as cellular phone software that allows users to share digital content. Such content includes calendars, chat rooms, photo albums and shared music platforms.

The description suggests a cloud-based music and photo sharing service for Motorola users. When the service is released to the public is not yet known as well as what, if any, subscription fees will be associated with it. [via goRumors]
