Dell Streak to go on sale tomorrow with AT&T 3G
Dell's Streak handset may ship tomorrow, according to a presales page on the company's website, though it has since been changed to reflect a 24-hour presale. The 5-inch Android tablet was also confirmed to only support AT&T 3G bands and not T-Mobile, and both pieces of news roughly line up with earlier reports that the device was due at AT&T. The tablet will be able to access data on T-Mobile's network, but only by using significantly slower EDGE.
As for the preloaded OS, Android 2.2 is still under development and due for a release later in 2010. A video demonstration from Dell of the tablet running on Android 2.1 is available below, though the initial shipments will likely include Android 1.6, with a software update to 2.1 relatively soon. Android 2.2 should bring with it the ability to share the 3G connection over Wi-Fi with other devices unless AT&T still has sway over the unlocked tablet.
The Streak will initially ship in black, with a cherry red version of the device due soon after. Those who pre-order the device may also be able to buy accessories for it, though whether this includes the HDMI dock remains to be seen. [via SlashGear]
