Company cuts guidance for Q2

NVIDIA has slashed its Q2 guidance, bringing the revenue forecast down by$150 million, amid a revenue shortfall in the company's consumer GPU business. The falloff was primarily blamed on increasing memory costs and economic weakness and in Europe and China.

Increased prices of discrete GPUs was said to have driven many customers to seek lower-cost alternatives such as cheaper GPUs and integrated graphics. Lackluster sales are expected to continue through the quarter, which ends August 1.

NVIDIA now expects Q2 revenues to fall between $800 and $820 million.
