ASUS shows specs of Eee PC 1001PQ, 1015PD

ASUS has released details on two of its newest Eee PCs, with the 1001PQ and the 1015PD. First introduced at CeBIT in March, the former sports a 10.1-inch screen and includes stickers for customizing. It comes powered by a 1.66GHz Atom N450, and its 160GB or 250GB hard drive is preloaded with Windows 7 Starter.

The netbook can be had in Vibrant Gold or Flame Purple and also sports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and a nine-cell, nine-hour battery. The system weighs 2.8lbs. A three-cell battery is standard, paring down life and weight to five hours and 2.4lbs, respectively.

The Eee PC 1015PD is more technically advanced, and available with Intel's brand new 1.66GHz N455 or 1.83GHz N475 Atom chips. It otherwise gets the same 10.1-inch screen as the 1001PQ and has 160GB, 250GB or 320GB hard drives, again preloaded with Windows 7 Starter. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 are present, as is 1GB of RAM, though 2GB is optional. The maximum battery life is 13 hours, and the minimum 4.5 hours, depending on whether USB 2.0 or 3.0 is equipped and a three- or six-cell battery is powering the netbook.

The second netbook can be had in blue, white or black. Prices or release dates for the new ASUS netbooks remain unknown, however, and are usually unveiled just before the system is available in a given country. [via EeePCNews]
