Nokia N8 now up for pre-sale in Italy

Nokia's long-awaited flagship, the N8, has now gone on pre-sale in Italy. The handset costs the equivalent of $613, though this includes local taxes and isn't locked to a carrier. It's listed as shipping near the end of September.

The handset will sport a 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and a Xenon flash. Software is also a focus of the camera with face recognition and a photo editor. An HDMI cable is included to show video at 720, and images can be stored on the 16GB of internal memory. The N8 has a 3.5-inch, 640x360, multi-touch display and is Nokia's first Symbian^3 phone with a more modern UI.

Five colors are being offered, including green, blue, silver, orange and gunmetal.
