Samsung Intensity II upgrades Verizon's messaging

Verizon chose the mid-day to bring out an upgrade to its basic messaging phone. The Intensity II replaces the original and mostly claims a greener design with a partly recycled body and similar efforts in the box and manual. It's implied through Rhapsody subscription support that the phone now supports 3G, but the design still has the familiar sliding QWERTY keyboard, 2.2-inch display and 1.3-megapixel camera.S

The new phone is customized for its network with a Social Beat app that unifies Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, as well as assisted GPS through VZ Navigator. Samsung's phone is shipping now through online orders and will be available at retail in "coming weeks." Either outlet prices the phone at $50 after both signing a two-year contract and getting a $50 rebate.
