Samsung outs two X-series, Core i3 notebooks
Samsung recently revealed two now X-series notebooks in its home market of Korea. There is the 11.6-inch X180 and 14-inch X430, both of which have 720p resolution and the same 1.2GHz Core i3. The larger notebook uses discrete graphics, in the form of NVIDIA's 512MB GeForce 310M, along with 4GB of system RAM.
The 500GB hard drive contains Windows 7, and the X430 is just over an inch thick and weighs 4.7lbs. The battery is rated to provide it with eight hours of life. It keeps lighter than it might otherwise be with a lid made of carbon fiber.
The X180 is just under an inch, weighs 3.5lbs and sports the same carbon fiber lid. It has 3GB of RAM, and relies on Intel's integrated GMA graphics. Its 320GB hard drive has Windows 7 preloaded. The X180 can outlast the X430 by just 12 minutes.
Pricing and ship dates for the notebooks haven't been revealed. [via Akihabara]
