YouTube allows 15-minute video uploads

YouTube announced on Thursday that it has increased the time limit of uploaded videos from 10 to 15 minutes. The company said it chose to do so now because of the improvements to its copy protection system, including Content ID that automatically recognizes and prevents uploads of obviously copied material.

YouTube says any videos that have been previously rejected for being too long need to be deleted from My Videos and re-uploaded. Some content producers have already had permission to upload videos longer than 10 minutes and won't have to make any changes.
