Samsung Cetus with WP7, AMOLED screen coming

Another, more concrete report has surfaced of the details of Samsung's mystery Cetusphone. It's now known through a Bluetooth SIG listing to be powered by Windows Phone 7. This time, however, the model number is SGH-i917, rather than i8700 in the original leak. The new information also explainst that the device will have a four-inch AMOLED screen with an 800x480 resolution, likely the Super AMOLED from the Galaxy S.

The handset is otherwise said to get GPS, Wi-Fi, a built-in FM radio, a five-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing VGA camera. Bluetooth 2.1 will also be included in the specs. It won't be the device Microsoft hinted at in March as the example was just a version of the i8910 modified as a developer prototype for WP7.

No images, release dates or prices for the Cetus are yet known. It is likely to be out when Windows Phone 7 launches, possibly as soon as September. [via Samsung Hub]
