Moto and Samsung Android phones arrive at Rogers
More phones have launched at Rogers today beyond the Curve 3G and this time focus on Android. The Samsung Captivate is now due to reach Canada and will be the second Galaxy S version in the country beyond Bell's Vibrant. It should be identical to the AT&T version and, besides four distinct buttons at the bottom, will have the familiar four-inch Super AMOLED screen, five-megapixel camera, 1GHz processor and TouchWiz 3-influenced Android interface.
The carrier hasn't said when it plans to ship the Captivate and only plans to provide details in "coming weeks."
At the low end of Android, the Motorola Flipout is making its North American debut and is the first Android 2.1 phone in the continent to use Motoblur. Its design literally revolves around a swiveling, near-square 2.8-inch screen that rotates to uncover a portrait-oriented QWERTY keyboard. A three-megapixel camera, GPS and Wi-Fi define its feature set.
The Flipout is shipping today and costs $30 on a contract or $375 without.
