Leak backs Moto Droid 2 launching on August 12

Official announcement may come August 10
Another leaked document from Verizon seems to indicate that the company will officially launch the Droid 2 on August 12. An image of what appears to be a training presentation for Verizon sales representatives details the company announcing the launch on August 10, with actual availability two days later. Several other recent leaks have also cited August 12 as the date Verizon will begin shipping the Droid 2.
The leaked picture of the launch schedule for the Droid 2 shows dates in the left column and action items on the right. August 12 is a likely date for the launch of the Droid 2 because Verizon customarily launches new products on Thursdays.
The Droid 2 is a close cousin of the Droid X and shares both its 1GHz processor and customized Blur interface, but it uses a smaller 3.7-inch display to help fit its sliding QWERTY keyboard and depends on a more modest five-megapixel camera. [via AndroidSPIN]
