Netflix Android app coming at an undisclosed date

A Netflix employee has confirmed that the company is hiring Android developers through Reddit. This confirms that, like the earlier job listings, Netflix plans on releasing an app that will let users stream Watch Instantly content. The mention is an indication that it's still searching for those with the knowledge to make the app, so a release date for the app remains unknown.

He added that Android's rapid rise in market share made it important to support the platform. "With the way Android is blowing up it would be stupid of us to ignore that," the staffer said.

Netflix currently offers an iPad app for accessing its paid, subscription-based content. An iPhone version and possible support for other platforms is enroute.
