HTC Desire HD leak shows larger screen, 720p

HTC's just recently unearthed Desire HD may have already been seen through a snapshot with new info. The phone will still run on a 1GHz Snapdragon and an 800x480 display but will use a larger 4.3-inch screen and an aluminum unibody frame like the Legend. HTC would give it Android 2.2 from the outset, however, and would support 720p video recording and playback, including support for playing XviD.

The remainder of the phone would include a handful of notable but lower-profile upgrades detailed earlier, the largest of which would be an eight-megapixel camera with face detection. It would support SRS audio processing and would ship preloaded with an e-reader app. Just a 4GB microSD card would be included.

Rumors have already put the Desire HD in October, though it's possible HTC may have the option of Android 3.0 by the time the phone ships. [via Android-HK]
