Sonata cells promise 80% life over 3 years
ASUS has introduced several new notebooks, the B Series, featuring Boston-Power's Sonata batteries. The lithium-ion cells focus on longevity rather than increasing capacity. The company claims the batteries will hold 80 percent of their original capacity for three years, a promise that is backed up with a three-year warranty.
Both the B43 and B53 will be available with 14.1- or 15.6-inch displays, Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs, ATI Radeon 5470 discrete graphics, and 2GB or 4GB of RAM. Customers can also choose integrated Intel graphics, several hard drive capacities, and ATI Eyefinity support for multiple displays.
The B53 is expected to be immediately available for $1,100, while the B43 has yet to be priced or paired with a definite launch date. [via Engadget]
