Verizon 2010 to 2011 roadmap leaks out

More details of Verizon's roadmap have surfaced today in a scoop that shows a strong push into Android. The most surprising is a third Motorola Droid model due in November, the Droid Pro. It's implied in the BGR note that the phone would be a superior model to the Droid 2 but would have a larger four-inch screen, an even faster 1.3GHz processor and GSM roaming outside of the US.

More Android phones are also in store, including a Moto Q-like phone with a larger touchscreen and again with world roaming. Other CDMA and GSM dual-mode devices are in store from HTC and Samsung before the end of the year, although the rumored flagship HTC device isn't necessarily part of those introductions.

Tablets will play a part and include a new model Motorola's 10-inch tablet has been detailed and would have a 1GHz or 1.3GHz chip along with Android 3.0, but the rumored end-of-year target has reportedly been moved to February due to Google's mobile OS release schedule. In return, though, Verizon may add the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Though not mentioned by name, a Samsung tablet matching its seven-inch screen, front camera and 3G is said to be on the way.

LTE launch details complete the roadmap and have a Novatel MiFi-like 4G router arriving in January or February. Although the service will start small late this year, Verizon hopes to have 75 percent of its current coverage map addressed by April 2012. Pricing for a full data modem or router plan will remain at $60 and should still be capped, but whether caps would change isn't apparent.
