Epson outs two low-cost all-in-one WorkForce printers

Entry-level printers for home and small office
Epson today introduced the Workforce 320 and Workforce 325. The new entry-level all-in-ones offer the ability to scan directly to PDF and e-mail. Other business-friendly features are the inclusion of a large 30-page automatic document feeders and fade, water, and smudge resistant ink that comes in individual color cartridges.
In addition to the standard all-in-one functions, both devices also come with OCR software capable of converting documents into editable text, and have one-touch color and black and white photocopying functionality. The 320 also carries built-in Wi-Fi.
The printing speed of both models is 4.3ppm black and 2.2ppm color at a maximum resolution of 5760x1440dpi. They scan at 1200dpi and can save up to 50 percent of paper supply as they are capable of manual, two-sided printing.
The WorkForce 320 is priced at $80 and is available now. The WorkForce 325 will retail for $100 when it becomes available in mid-August.

It's no secret that the true cost of ownership of an inkjet printer is in the ink. Epson has the thirstiest printers on the market. This "low cost" designation is misleading, to say the least.
