Samsung outs 65-inch 3D LED HDTV, more
Samsung has introduced four new 3D HDTVs on Wednesday, including the largest in the industry so far in the 65-inch UN65C8000. The LED-backlit set has Samsung's Real 240Hz panel and produces a high 8,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It's Wi-Fi ready and allows for Skype video calls through a Samsung app and a third-party camera.
There are three other 3D TVs, these ones based on plasma panels. Two are from the Plasma 680-series and have both 1080p screens and 600Hz panels. The 50-inch PN50C680 and the 58-inch PN58C680 both have the company's AllShare feature that lets users access media on their PCs or other DLNA-compatible devices.
The last new 3D TV is from the Plasma 490 Series. It gets a 600Hz Subfield Motion panel, sized at 50 inches, though resolution is lower, at 720p.
The 65-inch flagship is now available and carries a suggested retail price of $6,000. The 58-inch C680 plasma costs $2,300, and the smaller C680 $1,600. The 50-inch C490 has a suggested retail price of $1,100 but can be had for less in stores.
