Second Android offering from the carrier
US Cellular has announced that it will be adding HTC's Desire handset to its smartphone lineup. The device will be the second Android phone to arrive on the carrier, and one of five Android-based handsets that the company will add this year.
The Desire features a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, and a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. The carrier will ship the device with Android 2.1, although it is unclear if the company plans on upgrading to v2.2 in the near future.
US Cellular has yet to disclose pricing for the Desire, although it is expected to fall somewhere between $99 and $199 with a contract.

Until US Cellular announces support for GSM, I could care less. Any device that doesn't have a SIM card is no phone at all, and I have no use for a basic wifi tablet, especially one running Android.
