Components configured for Mac OS X
Axon Logic is finally ready to take pre-orders for its Haptic tablet designed for 'hackintosh' Mac OS X installation. Although the company officially warns against installing Mac OS X due to licensing restrictions, the tablet is said to be specifically built for compatibility with any Darwin-based operating systems such as Apple's latest Snow Leopard release and earlier versions of Mac OS X.
The tablet features a 10-inch touchscreen with 1024x600 resolution, while a 1.6GHz Atom CPU is paired with 2GB of RAM and a 3000mAh battery. The device also provides several USB ports, a 3G SIM slot, 320GB hard drive, webcam, VGA port, Ethernet jack and built-in speaker.
Customers can now pre-order the Haptic for $750. Operating systems such as Windows or Mac OS X must be purchased separately. The company also sells a CDMA 3G card, USB Bluetooth dongle, and Bluetooth GPS receiver, among other accessories. [via CrunchGear]
