New smartphones inbound?

A Chinese blog has posted specs of three alleged new HTC smartphones. The HTC Bee and Lexikon are said to be powered by Android 2.2 (Froyo), while the HTC Spark is rumored to be running Windows Phone 7.

The two Android smartphones list relatively modest specs, which would suggest that they are new entry-level devices. The HTC Bee incorporates a 3.2-inch QVGA touch screen with a 240x320 resolution and runs a Qualcomm 7625 processor clocked at 528MHz. The Lexikon differs in that it includes a QWERTY keypad, a higher resolution WVGA screen of 480x800, and a Qualcomm 7630 processor clocked at 800MHz.

The Windows 7 HTC Spark is rumored to be a more fully-fledged smartphone. It is based around a Qualcomm platform clocked at 1Ghz and includes 3G quad-band capabilities for maximum download speeds of 7.2Mbps. Also fitted is a larger 3.7-inch touch screen with 480x800 resolution and a five-megapixel autofocus camera.

The validity of the rumored specs, especially with regard to the HTC Spark, seem questionable. They list 512MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM, and make no mention of a search key. Without it, the Spark wouldn't meet the stringent criteria set down by Microsoft for the WP7 interface.

This may not be the first time that the Spark has surfaced. [ ViaThe Unwired]

    Hmmm

The Spark really looks nice, besides WP7. I guess we all have a bit of a faint of heart against that OS.

As for the other 2 cellphone, aren't they a bit slow for Android 2.2 ?
