Canon G12 may trade viewfinder for size
Canon's rumored PowerShot G12 may have been spotted today carrying a major redesign. The shot submitted to Canon Rumors shows the camera going without an optical viewfinder in return for a smaller body that makes the lens appear larger. Its size would be small enough to require a pop-up flash where it's been built-in before.
The image still shows a 5X, f2.8-4.5 lens along with other expected accompaniments, such as the focus light, a hot shoe and dual dials for the mode and ISO. It's not clear if the exposure value dial would survive, but it has previously been hidden in an area where it wouldn't necessarily show. Previous rumors have had the camera reach closer to the image quality of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras with a CMOS sensor and HD video as its highlights.
Canon is still believed to be unveiling the camera alongside the EOS 60D on or before August 26 and should either confirm or deny the design as well as set a price and ship date if the tips have been accurate.

Very cool
How the flash is now bounced off of a mirror. Much simpler and cheaper design to pop up a little mirror than house a flash bulb.
