MSI FX400 multimedia notebook detailed

Taiwanese PC maker MSI has revealed detailed specs of its upcoming FX400 media notebook, first introduced at CeBIT in March. The device is powered by an Intel Core i5 CPU, but the exact model hasn't been revealed. There is also a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M graphics processor on board to drive the 720p resolution screen.

To extend battery life, MSI's GPU Boost feature will switch off the dedicated processor and rely on the CPU's integrated graphics. The sound system, which is comprised of four speakers, was engineered in conjunction with THX.

The available hard drives include 250GB, 320GB and 500GB units. Power comes from a six-cell battery. A dual-layer DVD drive is built-in along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1.3-megapixel camera. The notebook weighs nearly 4.9lbs.

Despite the announcement, MSI has not revealed prices or ship dates for the FX400.
