Nokia coming to the US end of September

The flagship Nokia N8 is now available for pre-order in the US, with a ship date set for the end of September. It will be the first Nokia handset to use the Symbian^3 operating system, bringing with it multi-touch support, multiple home screens and live home screen widgets. Users can record full HD video on a 12-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and play it back on HDTVs thanks to the included HDMI cable.

The phone will have 16GB of built-in memory and include free turn-by-turn navigation from Ovi Maps. Processing power comes from a 680MHz CPU and the 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen has a 640x360 resolution. It is also the first Nokia phone to use 802.11n Wi-Fi, and it supports all five major 3G bands on HSPA, including AT&T's and T-Mobile's.

The US version of the phone is so far only available in dark grey rather than the four other colors available in other markets, including Italy. The unlocked handset costs $549.
