Traktor Kontrol S4 DJ system due this winter

Native Instruments on Monday said it will soon ship its Traktor Kontrol S4 DJ system. The company's first complete DJ system comes with special Traktor Pro software and sports a four-channel mixer section and an integrated low-latency 24bit/96kHz audio interface. Users can loop, cue, introduce effects and browse tracks.

The system also gets dynamic multi-color backlighting along with LED status displays and level metering. There are two flexible Sample Decks that allow for adding as much as eight samples at the same time. A Loop Recorder feature lets DJs capture and overdub audio loops from the live mix and drop them back in at their leisure. The S4 has dual touch-sensitive jog wheels that use electromagnetics to provide more physical feedback.

The Traktor Kontrol S4 ships this winter, priced at $1,000. A flight case that doubles as a stand will be optional at $190.
