Sony GA500 and GA200 cater to game audio
Sony dipped into gaming audio today with a pair of over-ear headsets with a pair of new features. Topping these, the DR-GA500 has an external audio processor that decodes 7.1-channel surround sound with Dolby Pro Logic IIx to create the surround effect without elaborate drivers. The extra positioning is potentially helpful for first-person shooters, racers and other games where sound awareness matters.
Both this and the core DR-GA200 also have a unique three-point adjustable headband that should theoretically be more comfortable than a typical two-point band. They share 40mm drivers for output and boom mics for chat. Interfaces are the only major differences beyond the surround features, as the GA500 can connect through USB where the GA200 has to use typical analog audio and microphone jacks.
The headsets have only been unveiled in Europe so far and don't have prices. From October 15, however, both will come with a free copy of the Afghanistan-themed Medal of Honor game for Windows.

Doesn't show the new models. Did they pull them, or is it just because I'm hailing from the USA and not the UK?
