Verizon to get Moto, Samsung tablets in November

What is being described as a trusted source has informed PhoneArena of a number of upcoming smartphones and tablets at Verizon. The report says September will see the release of the Motorola Droid 2 World Edition. This would be the first Android-powered global handset, and will be available in black/blue as well as white. Many of these rumored releases are supplemented by earlier news.

Also said to arrive in September is the Motorola Citrus WX445, aimed at a younger demographic. Not much is known about it in terms of technical specs, but it should be very affordably priced.

The LG Octane VN530, a touchscreen feature phone, LG VN270 that will replace the Cosmos, and the entry-level Pantech Cruz and ZTE Salute are also said to be arriving next month.

As for netbooks, the Dell Vostro V13 and HP Pavilion DM1-2010 will join the lineup as well.

In mid to late October, RIM's BlackBerry Storm 3 9570 is expected to arrive at Verizon. The source says this device will sport OS 6.0 but retain the older SurePress touchscreen rather than the capacitive screen of the newer Torch. A Curve 3 9330 is also due to arrive around the same time.

The rebadged Galaxy S, to be called the Fascinate at Verizon, is also billed near the end of October, but this is a long way removed from the device's release at other carriers that already have their versions. Other Android-powered handsets from Samsung should be the mid-range Continuum i400 and a QWERTY-keyboard equipped Gem i100.

Motorola will bring the XT610 handset to Verizon near the end of October, which should have a screen sized at about 4.3 inches, near the size of the Droid X. It will have lower specs, such as a 3.2- or 5-megapixel camera and a slower processor. It may cost between $100 and $130 on contract. The A957, or Sick, may also arrive at this time and may be the four-inch Droid Pro.

The Palm Pre 2 may also come to Verizon at this time.

The last handset believed to be launching in October involves the rugged, PTT-enabled Casio Ravine.

In November, the enTourage eDGe e-book reader and Android tablet combo and the previously unknown enTourage Pocket are said to be coming to Verizon.

An Android smartphone known as the HTC Merge may also come out then, complete with a 10-megapixel camera and a processor that's faster than 1GHz.

The Motorola Z600 tablet, which could be called the Stingray and the Samsung i800 tablet (likely the Galaxy Tab) are also said to be coming in November. The final devices believed to be coming at Verizon in November include 4G LTE cards, the PCD 290 and LG 600.

No pricing for any of the above devices at Verizon have been revealed, however.
