Logitech K800 backlit and rechargeable

Logitech has revealed a wireless version of its USB Illuminated Keyboard, the K800. The new keyboard combines a built-in battery with a micro USB powered charging solution that is claimed to last up to ten days depending on use. In order to extend battery life, the keyboard is fitted with both ambient light sensors and motion sensors. The latter inclusion detects the motion of hands on approach, turning the backlighting on, and then turning it off when it detects the motion of hands moving away.

The Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard, with included micro USB cord, is expected to be available later this month for $100. It currently lists official support only for Windows, although it should have basic functionality with Macs and other platforms.
