Olympus intros three new digital cameras
Olympus has introduced three new digital point and shoot cameras for Japanese and European markets. The µ7050 has 7X optical zoom, can record 720p video and has six Magic Filters for live effects. Four of these, including Drawing, Pinhole, Pop and Punk/Rock, can be applied when recording movies as well. The two new filters are Punk/Rock and Soft Focus, as they were not available on the predecessor, the µ7040.
The FE-5050 gets a 26-130mm zoom lens with a 5x optical zoom and the six Magic Filters. It aims at beginners with an integrated user guide. The FE-4050 has a 27-108mm equivalent zoom lens and the Drawing, Fisheye, Pinhole, Pop, Punk and Soft Focus Magic Filters. It has an automatic scene recognition mode, face detection autofocus, tracking autofocus and USB battery charging.
All three will launch in Japan later in August, while the FE-4050 and FE-5050 arrive in Europe in September. Prices have not been revealed, but most international camera upgrades at Olympus come shortly before their North American counterparts. [via PhotographyBlog]
