Cam also takes 10-megapixel stills

Sanyo has introduced the VPC-PD2BK, a pocket cam capable of shooting 1080p video at 30fps. The camera also allows users to capture 10-megapixel stills. Face detection, 3x optical zoom and digital image stabilization are available in either mode.

Video is recorded in MPEG4/H.264 format, while two microphones capture stereo audio recorded in 48KHz, 16-bit AAC. Users can view videos directly on the 2-inch LCD, or via Mini HDMI connected to an external display.

The PD2 is expected to ship sometime in September with an MSRP of $170. The camera provides an SD/SDHC slot, however the basic model does not include a memory card.
