Ricoh intros new 10MP CX4 camera for Japan

Ricoh has introduced a new camera in Japan, the 10-megapixel CX4. It sports an equivalent 28-300mm lens and a rear-illuminated CMOS sensor. The camera also has a new image sensor-shift stabilization feature that reduces blur by an average of 3.7 shutter speed stops.

Likewise new is a subject-tracking autofocus that lets users take clearer images of fast-moving subjects. For night shooting, users can select a multi-shot mode that captures four exposures and combines them into one sharp, well-exposed image with low noise.

For creative types, four new filters can be applied to images, including Soft Focus, Cross Process and Toy Camera.

The CX4 arrives in Japan on September 3, though no pricing was announced. Plans for introducing the camera in other markets have not been revealed. [via PhotographyBlog]
