Vizio ships flagship XVT HDTVs with Wi-Fi access

Vizio's flagship XVT series HDTVs are now shipping, the company announced on Friday. All of these flagship models have Vizio Internet Apps preloaded and can connect wirelessly thanks to integrated dual-band Wi-Fi. Navigation comes from a unique Bluetooth/IR remote control with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

The 55-, 47- and 42-inch sets also sport 10,000,000:1 contrast ratios and 240Hz panels, while the smaller 37- and 32-inch TVs have 1,000,000:1 contrast ratios and 120Hz panels. All the sets use local dimming areas in their LED panels, with the 55- and 42-inch sets sporting 120 zones and the 47-inch TV featuring 160 zones. The larger sets are now also less than three inches thick, while the smaller ones are under two inches in girth.

Vizio Internet apps include access to Vudu, Pandora, Yahoo! Video, NBA Game Time, Twitter, Facebook, Netflix, Rhapsody and Amazon VOD among others

The 55-inch XVT553SV is priced at $2,200, the 47-inch set at $1,800, the 42 inch model at $1,200 and the 37- and 32-inch HDTVs at $900 and $700, respectively.
