PocketBook intros tablet and e-readers before IFA

Germany's PocketBook wrapped up its week by launching multiple slates ahead of the IFA tech expo. The PocketBook IQ is targeted at the newly emerging crossover between tablets and reading and carries Android 2.0 along with a seven-inch touch LCD. Along with Android apps, it should have access to PocketBook's own Bookland store and will hop online through Wi-Fi, with Bluetooth an option for extras.

Two e-paper readers, the ProBook 603 and 903, update its more conventional line. Both have stylus-driven touchscreens, 2GB of storage as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for wireless. Screen size is their main difference, as the 603 has a more pocketable six-inch display where the 903 uses a 9.7-inch image.

Full launch details aren't available, but more is expected when IFA starts on September 3. PocketBook does have limited sales in the US as well as other parts of Europe and could bring the new models to other countries soon. [via Engadget]

    Good, but not good enough

They look pretty nice but they resemble more to a kindle than to an tablet. And from my point of view, the kindle era is dead, now with the iPad and other tablets emerged.
