WP7 games to unlock functionality in Xbox titles
A Microsoft representative has confirmed several gaming features for Windows Phone 7, including the ability to engage in multiplayer competition between handsets and consoles. The company's Mobility Solutions Manager for Canada, Greg Milligan, suggests the phone-to-console functionality will eventually be experienced in real-time via Wi-Fi.
Xbox integration will also go beyond multiplayer gaming, as users will be able to play mini games on WP7 handsets to unlock features in games on the console. Milligan claims Microsoft does not have "anything to announce right now" regarding phone-to-console chat, although users will be able to view or modify avatars directly from the handset, according to an interview with RGBFilter.
The average price range for many mobile games is said to be between $1.99 and $2.99, while multiplayer functionality on the mobile platform will be available with a free Xbox Live Silver account. [via WMPoweruser]
