Movies garnered from variety of sources

Boxee has launched an updated version of its beta software, which now includes a Media Library selection. Users can now switch between locally stored videos and a collection of streamed content from sources such as EZTakes, Indie Movies Online, MUBI, and Openfilm.

The company claims most of the movies are available for free, with many supported through advertisements. The feature will eventually be expanded to include content from additional services or directly from studios.

Users can download the latest beta, which also includes hundreds of bug fixes, directly from Boxee's website. The free software is available for Mac, Windows, Linux and Apple TV platforms. The company is also prepping a dedicated set-top box that will eliminate the need for third-party hardware.
