Samsung takes 45 days to hit 1m Galaxy S mark
Samsung started the week by confirming that it had shipped one million Galaxy S phones in the US. The tally includes the combined numbers for AT&T's Captivate and T-Mobile's Vibrant and took 45 days to reach. It doesn't yet include the Epic 4G, which reaches Sprint tomorrow, or the Fascinate, which reaches US Cellular and Verizon sometime in the fall.
The Korean company billed the results as "instant success" and expected more markers in the future.
Its results are strong for an individual Android phone maker and helps fuel Google's collective overtaking of the iPhone, but the results are relatively modest compared to Apple's 1.7 million iPhone 4 units in three days. Apple had the advantage of multiple countries but was also limited to AT&T in the US.
Android's welfare in the US is expected to be strong for the rest of the year but could change in January if a rumored Verizon iPhone is ready for when AT&T's exclusive ends.

ha!
We all know that this is just 'shipped', not sold or even any hope of selling.
