Sony Ericsson says X10s get Android 2.1 soon

Sony Ericsson UK has announced, via Twitter, that it will send out the Android 2.1 update to its XPERIA X10 handsets in September. Such a release was rumored back in April, and would upgrade the phone's existing Android 1.6 OS. It should get 720p video recording and DLNA media sharing support over the local network at the same time.

The X10 is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU from Qualcomm and has a 4-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 854x480. The upgrade will bring with it multi-touch support, more advanced features and a more capable web browser.

The X10 mini and mini pro should get the Android 2.1 update at the same time.
