Napster now available on Samsung TVs, BD players

Digital music service Napster is now available to download from Samsung Apps for the electronics maker's web-connected HDTVs, home theater systems and Blu-ray players. Users can choose from Napster's library of more than 10 million songs and stream directly to the TV or set-top boxes. Napster members can access their playlists as well, or tune to Napster radio stations. Another quick-listening option is to Automix a number of tracks from a favorite artist.

Other extras include Billboard charts dating back to 1955. New releases and top songs are likewise available, and users can search specifically for any artist, album or track.

Owners of 2010 Samsung TVs sized at 40 inches and above, along with 2010 Blu-ray players and home theater systems with Samsung Apps support can download the app now. The app is free, but a Napster subscription is required. Those wanting to sample the service can sign up for a two-week free trial.
