T-Mobile G2 images leaked, Android 2.2 preloaded
T-Mobile will soon release the G2 Android phone, its first HSPA+ handset, and the first images have been leaked thanks to CellPhoneSignal. The device as shown will be preloaded with a stock form Android 2.2, and like expected will reach theoretical download speeds of up to 14.4Mbps on T-Mobile's HSPA+ network. Only silver will be available, at least initially.
Other features include a 3.7-inch touchscreen, a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and a hardware QWERTY keyboard. A 5-megapixel camera will also be onboard, along with Wi-Fi and the ability to create a Hotspot connection for other Wi-Fi devices. Assisted GPS functionality and Bluetooth 2.1 round out the main known specs of the phone, which will use a trackpad and touch-sensitive controls in place of the G1's button-driven layout.
When the device will ship remains unknown, but a September launch is increasingly likely given the existence of formal shots.
