Media invite also focused on new Media Hub

Samsung has invited members of the media to a special event, scheduled for September 16 and focused on the next Galaxy S handset. The "latest Android-powered device" could be the Fascinate, which was recently spotted in Verizon's inventory system, although a separate leak placed the launch date a week earlier on September 8.

The Fascinate is expected to be a CDMA-equipped version of the Vibrant. Like the other Galaxy S phones, the new offering should integrate a four-inch AMOLED display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, Swype, and Android 2.1. Other features common to the series include 720p video recording and DLNA media sharing.

Customers can already pre-order the Fascinate at Best Buy retail stores. Pricing is set at $200 with a two-year contract. [via PocketNow]
