Release expected in early December

Panasonic has announced that the 3D Blu-ray release of the movie "Avatar" will be exclusive to Panasonic TVs. The company has partnered with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment for the promotion, which will only limit the first run of Blu-ray Discs scheduled for release in December.

A previous promotion offered a $25 rebate on Panasonic Blu-ray players or home entertainment systems purchased alongside a 2D copy of "Avatar" on DVD or Blu-ray. The company also worked with 20th Century Fox before the movie was released, with early screenings presented on Panasonic 3D TVs.

The 3D Blu-ray promotion will likely be available in the form of several different bundles with 3D Viera Plasma TVs. Panasonic consumer marketing VP Victor Carlson told TWICE that the company will also work to "do the right thing" by making the movie also available for customers who have already purchased a 3D Viera TV.
