Sharp shows 3D cameraphone, glasses-free displays
At the IFA expo kicking off tomorrow, Sharp will show off a cellphone with a glasses-free display and a camera that can capture 3D images. Pocket-lint received a sneak peek at the device, the back of which has two lenses, similar in fashion to the Fujifilm Real 3D W3 camera. The screen uses a lenticular lens, which, like that on the Nintendo 3DS' main stcreen, won't require glasses to produce a 3D effect.
The phone remains a concept, but Sharp spokespeople said it will be out this year, though whether this will be in the US, the UK or Japan hasn't been revealed.
Also at IFA, Sharp will show off larger 3.8- and 10.1-inch glasses-free 3D screens, though what types of devices these will be attached to remains to be seen.
