Swoopy designs and Intel’s latest chips on offer
Samsung has unveiled its new SF series notebooks and NF series netbooks at IFA. The SF series comes in three screen sizes, the 13.3-inch SF310, the 14-inch SF410 and the 15.6-inch SF510. Powered by Intel’s Core i3 or Core i5 dual-core processors, they're also equipped with NVIDIA dedicated graphics with Optimus switching to revert to Intel graphics when longevity is more important than speed. Battery life is a claimed 7.5 hours with the bundled 61Wh li-ion cell.
Also featuring the company’s new design language, Samsung’s new NF series netbook range is led by the flagship NF310 model. The NF310 comes equipped with the new Intel Atom N550 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and is coupled with 2GB of DDR3 RAM. It ships with Windows 7 and is capable of HD movie playback on its LED-backlit 1366x768 display. The mid-level NF210 purports to deliver up to 14 hours battery life with its six-cell battery, while the NF110 is the entry-level option.
While pricing has yet to be announced, the SF series notebooks will ship globally in October, while the NF netbook series will initially ship in October in Europe, with a worldwide rollout to follow.
